Surviving the Winter Blues

Book a trip or two to pull you through.
Go on long, sweaty runs where your body takes your brain along for the ride
And your mind is no longer in the driver’s seat.
Use ClassPass once or twice a week.
Read, or listen to, one nonfiction book a month for self-growth
As well as one fiction book for your imagination.
Read. Listen. Imagine. Write. Journal.
Guide your thoughts and mindfulness into words.
Dance. Be it in your room with the lights dimmed low and the music blasted high
In the sensual salsa studio. Or the too-packed nightclub.
Close your eyes and just dance!
Play music that makes your heart sing and your hips sway.
Cook. Create new recipes and plate them beautifully
Savor your meal and appreciate the creativity of the process.
Approach grocery trips like scavenger hunts
For colorful fruits and veggies that you’ve yet to try.
Declutter and change something in your home
Then reinvent your style — interior or personal.
Get new bedding, maybe some fancy bedding.
Even if it’s just a silk pillowcase.
You spend at least 8 hours on it a night, it’s worth it.
Keep your day full, and your heart fuller.
Spend time with others. Over walks, drinks, and lengthy convos.
Coffee dates, happy hour dates, workout dates, dates.
Get outside, as much as possible. Breath in and breath out the brisk air.
And be sure to take note of all that’s yet to come while you’re out there.
